Community Partnerships

According to Executive Director, Johnny Ray, The SCFPA plans to work with the community in a variety of ways, including opening its doors to families who encourage their children to participate in all forms of the performing arts.  

One example of Mr. Ray's commitment to community engagement was his partnership with the Rotary Club to help produce Marblehead's Got Talent, culminating in the finals at The Cabot Theater in Beverly, where outstanding participants earned tuition grants to support their college education. In addition, contestants were given a valuable platform to perform when Mr. Ray and his partner, chef Edgar Alleyne, welcomed them to their restaurant, The Beacon in Marblehead, providing them with real-world experience in front of live audiences.

When not working on SCFPA initiatives, Mr. Ray can often be found alongside his partners, Richard Messinger and John Paul Lenney, at their music store in Marblehead, which offers lessons, mentorship, and training opportunities for aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels.

Mr. Ray has also utilized Warwick Cinemas as a venue for diverse cultural programming, including live performances, documentary screenings, and community art exhibitions. Among these was Women of Color in the Arts (WOCA), a gallery exhibition presented in the theater lobby that celebrated artistic achievement, diversity, and inclusion. Through children's theater programs, music, dance, workshops, educational events, and community performances, the organization aims to provide young people with opportunities to develop their talents, build confidence, and express their creativity in a welcoming and supportive environment. By fostering a love for the arts at an early age, the SCFPA hopes to inspire the next generation of performers, creators, and community leaders while strengthening family and community connections through shared cultural experiences.
